"Don't Eat Fortune's Cookie" Michael Lewis
Michael Lewis, in my opinion, is one of the greatest authors of his time. He is the author of The Fifth Risk, The Undoing Project, Flash Boys, The Big Short, Liar's Poker, and Moneyball, to name a few.
Lewis' address to the Princeton class of 2012 is one of the better commencement speeches that I have heard.
If Lewis had waited any longer to write his first book, Liars Poker, he would have likely continued his career on Wall Street. He acknowledges that sometimes "luck" has a lot to do with how your life and career turns out.
I agree with Lewis to some degree, but I also subscribe to the philosophy that you can help make your own "luck." Lewis was a bright and insightful individual who took advantage of opportunities presented to him and wasn't afraid to take risks.
